We're looking for an HR Advisor to provide professional, consistent HR advice to our employees and managers. You'll often act as a first point of contact for advice and guidance on all aspects of HR practice. 
 
You’ll provide generalist HR support to our onsite workforce with occasional remote support to our other offices. You’ll be responsible for providing first line support to employees and managers with relation to policies, procedures, employee relations, wellbeing and recruitment.
 
Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Provide advice, coaching and support to managers on all people management matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, attendance management etc
  • Develop robust relationships with managers in order to influence and support them in delivering on their business objectives
  • Attend disciplinary and grievance hearings as the HR representative, providing appropriate advice to line managers and ensuring a fair and consistent process
  • Produce month-end reports and other ad-hoc reports as required, conducting analysis to identify trends and areas of improvement
  • Support and advise managers and employees in delivering change, facilitating effective consultation and advising on the legal and HR aspects of change proposals
  • Work with the HR Business Partner and HR Services Manager to identify, develop and implement HR initiatives and track progress against the project plan
  • Meet with department managers on a regular basis to present analysis of HR trends within their departments and work with these managers to identify improvements
  • Coach line managers and employees in HR policy and practices and provide expert advice in the application of HR policy and people management practices, ensuring procedures are followed and risks minimised
  • Advise line managers on requests to vary contractual terms, ensuring any complex issues are resolved in liaison with the HR Business Partner
  • Assist in gathering feedback from employees through various communication methods such as upward appraisals, employee surveys, team briefs and suggestion schemes
  • Ensure that all HR policies and procedures are up to date and relevant
  • Work closely with the business to implement any new projects into HR which may also impact other business areas
 
Essential to the role:
  • At least CIPD Level 3 qualified
  • Experience in handling employee relations cases with sensitivity and political awareness
  • Experience of working within a similar role, preferably in the Financial Services industry
  • Solid knowledge of current employment legislation and a good understanding of HR policies
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to adopt a logical approach to solving problems
  • A confidential and professional approach is essential and can demonstrate integrity and respect
  • Takes the initiative to make decisions and provide ‘fit for purpose’ HR solutions
  • Strong influencing skills
  • A flexible approach and positive attitude
Desirable skills
  • Experience in facilitating and delivering change programmes
