Our commitment to nurturing growth and investing in employees’ professional development has once again been recognised.

We won the award for Training, Excellence & Impact at the Insurance Times Awards 2015, held in London.

The prestigious annual awards celebrate achievement across the UK insurance industry and this year were presented by comedian David Walliams.

Kevin Howard, Chief Operating Officer at 1ST CENTRAL says: “We recognise that we can’t be a success without a happy, motivated and skilful workforce. We appreciate that in order to exceed targets, boost skills and retain our people, we must cultivate a positive environment and be prepared to dedicate time and money to help our people achieve their full potential.

“Our commitment to providing training, excellence and impact is reflected in the fantastic take up of our training programme and the continually growing levels of customer satisfaction, which we expect will continue to grow into 2016 and beyond.”

‘Nurture growth’ is one our company values and this is firmly embedded within our culture and underpins 1ST CENTRAL's commitment to developing its people.

Throughout their time here, employees are encouraged to progress their professional development by signing up for external courses, and we also have a variety of internal courses developed by our dedicated Learning & Development team.

Cat Harris, Learning & Development Team Lead, says: “The L&D team works solidly to ensure employees are equipped to carry out their roles confidently and competently.

“All of the trainers have extensive knowledge of the industry and deliver training and coaching in exciting and memorable ways. I feel that this award not only recognises the developing talent at 1ST CENTRAL, but also the hard work and commitment of the L&D team.”

In addition to our extensive training courses, we offer work shadowing to give people a chance to learn about another department and how their role fits within the company.

And each year we run a Learning at Work week where our people can learn new skills and have fun at the same time.
