Our volunteers get green fingered
As part of our volunteering programme, seven employees “dug” out their gardening gear recently to help our local hospice.
Our volunteering programme provides employees with an opportunity to give something back to the local community. And anyone who signs up to the programme is entitled to one day’s paid leave each year to take part in a volunteering activity.
On a sunny Friday, our volunteers got green fingered and set about weeding and tidying at St Peter & St James Hospice in West Sussex to ensure the flower beds and greenery were looking their best.
It’s important that the gardens are kept in good order, particularly in the summer months, so residents and visitors can use and admire them.
After a hard day’s work, our team took a tour of the hospice and met some of the residents. They were even treated to a cup of tea and some homemade cake as a thank you for all their hard work.
