Current role

I work as the Outsourcing & Technology Business Partner in the Learning & Development department. I’m here to help employees develop in their roles by providing an encouraging learning environment, both in the office and online.

How long have you been working at 1ST CENTRAL?

I’ve been with the company since July 2011, just after I finished college.

Tell us about your career path here at 1ST CENTRAL.

I originally started at 1ST CENTRAL as a Sales Agent. My role was to sell car insurance policies to new and existing customers. After about two years in this role, I was trained in Customer Service, which meant I was able to help existing customers make changes to their policies and deal with any queries they had. August 2013 saw me take on a new challenge as I applied to become a Trainer in the L&D team. After nearly three years as a Trainer and then Senior Trainer, I was then offered the chance to become a Business Partner in October 2016, which meant I helped departments analyse their learning needs and helped to come up with solutions. As of February 2018, I'm currently the Learning Business Partner for Outsourcing and Technology.

What do you love about your current role?

The digital world excites me, so I love being involved in all the different online possibilities. Working in Learning & Development means I get to meet people from all departments and help them personally develop. I often see them progress through the company too, which is great!

What’s the best thing about 1ST CENTRAL as a company?

The company really looks after its employees. It offers so many different benefits that can help you inside and outside of work and also strives to nurture its employees and encourages them to grow within the company.

What did you want to be as a kid?

I wanted to be an architect from the age of five. I used to design all types of different buildings and then create them using Lego. They would range from three-bedroom houses to giant glass skyscrapers. I couldn’t build them all with Lego though!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love my sports; especially football. I play on a weekly basis with my friends, and regularly go to see the best team in the world play live (I’ll let you decide who it is). I like to travel, listen to music, and spend time with my friends and family.

Who would play you in the movie about your life?

As much as I would like to say Brad Pitt or Gerard Butler, I think I’ll have to be realistic and say Jason Statham.
